Usage and care

Stabilized keys

Avoid pulling too firmly or off-axis when removing the stabilized keys. The pin-joint stabilizer is a intricate mechanism made of many tiny parts; internal components can break if over-stressed. Take care to pull gently and straight upwards on the keycap near where the stems insert, trying to keep the keycap as parallel to the face of the switch plate as possible. Just contact us if you have any issues.

Boot-up tone

Hold down Esc on boot to toggle on/off the audible boot-up tone.

Mac vs PC mode

Hold down tilde (~) key on keyboard boot to switch between Mac and PC modes.

One solid tone at boot up indicates Mac mode (the default). Three short tones at boot up indicates Windows mode.

For hearing impaired users, plug in the keyboard and check the behavior of your modifier keys.

In Mac mode, the context menu key (”Meta”) functions the same as the Fn key on Apple keyboards.

Adjusting the debouncing rate

The default is 95ms, which is within the normal range for Cherry MX keyboards. However, in the rare event that you experience unwanted double actuations, you can adjust the debouncing rate of the keyboard to increase or otherwise adjust this. (Hard-core gamers that have abornally fast key presses may wish to reduce or turn off debouncing entirely.)

To make the adjustment, simply hold down one of the numeral keys when plugging the keyboard in. You'll hear an audible confirmation. This setting will remain until you perform this same operation to set the debounce rate again.
